I am interested in the interior life, but how do you give form to feelings? Especially feelings that you can’t articulate? You need a conduit, and I use old photos. Something in the image catches my eye, then I go from there. I lose my way again and again; painting, repainting, scratching, sanding, then repeating, until I know what I mean. It's a precarious way to work, but I love messing with paint and am amazed and humbled when it expresses the inexpressible.
